Day of the Dead (Dia de Los muertos) Banner

Dear scrappers,
I while ago I bought some fun day of the dead stamps from Paper wings and haven't used them until I saw this challenges, which inspired me to make a banner for the day of the dead.
Entering and was inspired by the following challenge:
Aurora Wings: Day of the Dead challenge

This is the crooked picture of the whole banner, crooked to fit it all in the picture...:

Looking at the Fun Stamper Journey Catalog, I found an adorable sugar skull image I could resist buying:

Paper wings stamped images:

Close ups:

I also found this die from Deadbeat designs:

And finally to complete the whole banner, I found at Scrapbook N' More (our only local scrapbooking store left), this super cute lady sugar skull image from Texana Designs:

I embossed the banner panels using this marrocan design folder from Sizzix.

And made some little banners using the Paper wings stamps and some twine:

Other materials used: skull beads from Bead Gallery from Michaels, sticklers in many colors, my Faber Castells pencils, Cinco de Mayo stamps and Dies from Fun Stampers Journey, Smooches, liquid glass (CTMH), Paper frills from Doodle Bug, skeleton mariachi charms from a local store at La Villita (San Antonio), ribbon, card stocks (CTMH, American Crafts, Recollection), etc...

I hope you enjoy this fun project as much as I did and leave me some love,

Have a very blessed day (de Los muertos ;-)

Connie Can Crop DT: Spooky Banner

Dear scrappers,

This is Veronica from Vicky's Scrapping Passion and
today is my day to post with Connie Can Crop.

Our wonderful sponsor this month is Miss Kate's Cuttables. Please stop by and check out all the wonderful files they have available.

For my fun project, I used our sponsor's files: halloween-numbers and halloween-monograms, both so adorable:
I used some leftover of retired CTMH Halloween paper pack, a past constant campaign orange paper similar to the ones sold now by CTMH (Paper Fundamentals, found here), which have the nice texture, which resist inking qas you can see in these closeup of the P.
Another close up to show off the nice letter cuts from Miss Kate:
I used some glitter paper as well for the number 31 and the the skinny frames from the Theresa Collins cartridge.

The fun challenges, which gave me inspiration to add certain elements:
http://heart2heartchallenges.blogspot.com/2015/10/cricut-capers.html
By using my cricut.
http://anythingbutcutechallenge.blogspot.ca/2015/10/challenge-6-31-days-of-halloween.html
By stressing out the # 31
http://frillyandfunkie.blogspot.com/2015/10/something-wicked.html
By adding tons of distressing techniques, texture paste (Faber Castell), burlap paper, ghostly ribbon, spiders, a witch, carved pumpkins (ribbon and cricut lettering).

I hope you enjoyed this project as much as I did making it.

And please don't forget this month's fun challenge!!

Now some details about my own project:

I made this layout to portrait my son's second Halloween. It is 8x8 and I am displaying it in a 8x8 display stand I got from Michaels a while ago. You can image how behind I'm with my scrapbooking, he is now 8 yo... ;-)

Here is a close up:

I used some of my stash: Karen Fosters adorable 8x8 paper pack.

K& Co borders (picture here is from the internet), These borders are adorable and have a lot of sparkle, which is not really shown in my picture.

And some Bats glitter tape from Recollection, also from my stash.

I hope you enjoy it and participate in this fun challenge,

Have a wonderful and very blessed day
